MODULAR FOOTOSTEOSYNTHESIS SYSTEM
The M2 Modular Foot Osteosynthesis System offers a wide selection of plates, screws and all the required instruments for placement. The comprehensiveness of the system lends itself to a wide variety of fixation options for common indications in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot.
The modular design principle allows the user countless configuration options of screws, plates and instruments exactly tailored to their surgical needs.
Other device features include a MCD screw head connection (MCD-Mondeal Contour Drive), forward and reverse cutting flutes on all screws and anatomically preformed plates.
Small Drills are recommended for single use only. Damage is difficult to detect due to the small dimensions.
Drills are provided with depth stops to prevent accidental penetration beyond the targeted bone.
A drilling speed of 500-800 rpm must be maintained to avoid overheating and bone necrosis. When using high speed power sources, the user must verify with the manufacturer a setting that corresponds to a maximum speed of 800 rpm.
Always use the shortest drill possible given the clinical indication. Longer drills are naturally susceptible to more eccentric rotation, especially when operated in air, free of resistance.
